AT&T | JUST OK IS NOT OK

In 2018, AT&T had just been elected the best wireless network in the country according to America’s biggest test. To celebrate this achievement, the team at BBDO LA created a new campaign, Just OK Is Not OK, that reminded people they shouldn’t settle for anything less than the best. After a successful first batch of films and digital work, the idea became the brand’s network platform. A lot of work came out of it. Below you can find my small contribution to the campaign.

Just OK Gift Boxes

No one enjoys receiving a gift that is just OK. Based on that universal truth, AT&T prepared a way for customers to surprise and prank their loved ones during the Holiday season. In select AT&T flagship stores, customers who bought phones as gifts were invited to choose from a range of gift boxes that have the shape of undesirable gifts. Made with 100% recyclable material, the gift boxes are shells inside which customers can place their recently purchased phones to prank their gift receivers. 5,000 gift boxes were produced, and they became available on Thanksgiving to shoppers from 8 flagship stores across the country.

Just OK Stat Cast

As one of the College Football League’s sponsors, AT&T wanted to reinforce its Best Network campaign message by reminding fans they shouldn’t settle for anything less than the best. But how do we grab sports fans’ attention when they’re too busy keeping up with their favorite team stats? By serving them contextually relevant but utterly useless stats about their team. More than 500 unique stats were created on ESPN.com. During the games, ads were updated 3 times a minute, reacting in real-time to 17 different in-game triggers.

Just OK Valentines

We created a series of Just OK Valentine’s Day cards with beautifully illustrated cards featuring wholly unromantic messages – all to remind people that networks, like Valentines, should never be just OK.
